Tilly and Poppy’s Adventure Unfolds!

More trips away were done, especially to Delamere. Poppy was growing and even at o9ver 6 months old, she was now bigger than Tilly, who was now 5 years old. There was one thing that changed which seemed really odd. I don’t think I mentioned before but when had Molly & Tilly they were fed home cooked food, obviously after they had been weaned off puppy food, we had a butchers close by to where we lived, where buying in bulk was encouraged they had a varied diet from liver, fish, chicken, heart and beef mince along with brown rice and vegetables all cooked in a slow cooker, breakfast could be scrambled egg or porridge made with water. I understand some of you would not agree with this, which I completely appreciate, but each vet visit we had, usually for vaccinations, were told they had healthy coates and even asked us if they could come to dinner! Anyway I digress, the plan was once Poppy was able to continue with this, but for some very strange reason Tilly decided kibble was the way forward, I am sure if Poppy had known about the tasty food she would not of been happy at Tilly’s switch!

We did from time to time visit caravan sites further away from home, Shrewsbury was her next new adventure. Tilly had visited Beaconsfield Holiday Park on previous occasions but this would be Poppy’s first time, which as I am sure you know wasn’t without its challenges, the first first one being Poppy managed to get hold of Tilly’s halti and proceeded chew through it on further inspection she had also chewed a hair brush, thankfully I caught her and managed to save it. I still own said brush and it makes me smile when I see her teeth marks. Our fist job after setting up was to get Tilly sorted with her new lead and halti. The ducks were still wandering around the campsite much to Poppy’s amusement but still being a puppy she wanted to play with them. We spent some time walking around Shrewsbury town, which was good for socialising the girls, as I have previously said, having drinks or food was very weather dependent, although the3 smoking ban had taken effect so there was ether shelter and some heat.

Day to day life for these two was interesting, going to work each day with my husband ment they had a lot of space to roam, as well as people or pigeon watching, meeting customers who always made a fuss of them, the only daw back was a bored puppy Poppy chewing through a telephone cable! Interacting with people or just watching the world go by ment by the time they got home after all that mental stimulation it was teatime and then sleep.

We were lucky to know a lady to help with home boarding for these two, she had a small holding along with 4 Labradors of her own. Poppy had started pawing of you ignored her, which was funny at first but with her weight ment at times it was painful. We noticed when she returned from her little holidays she stopped doing it, we think she might have done it too many times! Tilly on the other hand was a bit of a favourite due to her large tongue! Diane said she could hear her panting so ew where the dogs were as she always had her tongue out!

As Poppy started to mature and started to come into season, things were becoming different with her especially after , my sister had recently had a baby and we could see her becoming maternal, she would often sit looking into her pram just sitting there watching, one one occasion when my niece was upset she started to produce milk! We knew things had to change, especially when we saw her sitting and watching a pair of my boots!

Little did we know a whole new chapter and dynamic was about to begin!
