Another Christmas came and went, still slightly different, then it came SNOW! Now as humans we always say I love it as long as we don’t have to go outside, for Poppy and Lottie it ment chilly walks lots of snuffling in the snow coming up with icy white noses and scattering of snowflakes on their heads, but the best bit of fun they had was trying to catch the flakes as they came down from the sky. We were fortunate to have a golf club near our house which we were allowed to walk around, keeping a close eye out for flying golf balls! But as it had been snowing no one had ventured to play, as we walked around the girls were of lead, running, pushing themselves along the floor and generally having the best time ever how they never felt the cold was beyond us, we stood or walked around freezing but did not want to spoil their fun. It was towel drying for them and hit Coffee for us when we got home. The minute we turned around they were sound asleep in their beds no doubt dreaming about the fun they had had.
After a while the snow thawed and it became a memory, weekly walks became a bit further afield, Poppy and Lottie were lucky enough to leave quite close to a number of parks with open fields to wander around, one of our favourites is Tatton Park in Knutsford, Cheshire, it has a lot of open park land which is around 1000 acres! a farm with a small and rare breed animals, a house and gardens, obviously some of these areas are not dog friendly. The park land is home to deer which means that the girls were kept on leads and not to frighten or disturb them, there is also a number of sheep too but still lots of room to explore and roam. I think both Poppy and Lottie were a little confused with the deer, it was like they were thinking ‘why have these bigs dogs got sticks growing out of their heads’!
Even in the extraordinary circumstances the world had found itself in work continued, they decided day to day if it was a go to work or work from home day! On one particular day Poppy decided it was a WFH day and thought it was a good idea to join me in my home gym, after trying to choose which piece of equipment to use first she decided it was all too much and went back to her bed!
We made some really lovely memories at this time which even included making sure nothing happened to a pizza!
