Morning Walks & Golden Sunrises – Memories That Last Forever

Winter isn’t exactly my cup of tea, let’s just say I’m more of a sun-seeking kind of pup! But there’s something magical about waking up to those stunning sunrises. The golden glow over frosty fields makes for some truly breathtaking photos. And for Poppy and Lottie, it’s a time to embark on grand adventures, noses twitching with excitement at every new scent. We’re fortunate to live in a part of the UK where the countryside is practically our backyard, and we also have a historic old mill pond pool. It’s a bustling hub for ducks, wildfowl, and a few swans who have made it their permanent residence. It’s the perfect spot to sit back, watch the ducks’ antics, and maybe toss them a treat or two. One weekend, Lottie set off on her morning stroll along the pool’s edge. Leftover food scraps from the day before were too tempting for a Labrador to resist. In true Labrador fashion, she couldn’t let them go to waste. Lottie’s always been a gentle soul around birds and wildlife, taught never to engage, but the food was clearly more enticing than a hissing swan. Meanwhile, Poppy was slowing down a bit, though her mind still insisted she was a sprightly young pup! So, she just had a little wander around our home. After our walks, the humans would whip up breakfast, usually something like a sausage sandwich. And since we’d been out and about, they seemed to think we deserved a share! Even the fridge had a Labrador security guard on duty, ensuring everything was in tip-top shape 😂😂.We were thrilled to be invited to a Labrador meet in Chester, a city in the Northwest of England known for its famous racecourse. When it’s not hosting races, you can stroll around it. A local had organised a gathering for like-minded Labrador owners to walk their dogs off-lead around the course. Can you imagine the sight? All these dogs chasing each other, making new pals, and having an absolute blast! The highlight was seeing all the different colours—chocolate (in various shades), black, yellow, and fox red—and all ages, from bouncy young pups to the more leisurely plodders. It was a fantastic day for everyone, and back home, it was time for some well-deserved sleep, dreaming of running around with their newfound friends.
